boot Düsseldorf is the world's leading trade fair for the nautical industry, the world's largest indoor trade fair. It takes place every year at the end of January at Messe Düsseldorf, and involves 17 pavilions and the following sectors: boats and yachts, engines and related equipment, canoes and kayaks, water sports, diving, fishing, maritime tourism and other nautical-related services. During the last edition, which took place from the 18th to the 26th of January 2020, record numbers were reached: 1,900 exhibitors, 250,000 visitors and an ever-increasing interest in all areas of the maritime sector, particularly water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, but also diving, canoeing and kayaking.
On the occasion of Boot 2020, the Region of Sicily participated by bringing 38 exhibitors together in a collective of 923 square meters. The exhibition space was designed and built for them by Honegger, official representative in Italy for the Düsseldorf trade fair and promoter of Italian excellence in the world. The Sicilian group show not only puts in place shipbuilding, but also a whole series of services related to the nautical sector and maritime tourism, as well as the production of supplies, components and accessories for boats. The Region of Sicily has thus placed itself alongside its regional companies to support and promote Italian and Sicilian excellence in the pleasure boating industry: we are talking about a field that employs 6,000 people and is still in great expansion today.
