About the project
The Regional Institute for Wines and Olive Oils - Research Center of the Sicilian Region (IRVOS) was founded in 1950 as a public body serving the viticulture of the island, responsible for the protection, evolution and promotion of the Sicilian wine and oil production. Institute’s field of action is very wide: it includes the initial moment of the vine planting and cultivation, up to the promotion of the finished product, the wine research and the support to commercial activities of the Sicilian companies. The Institute has always considered and valued the cultural component of wine: this is not just a consumer product, but a cultural asset, strongly influenced by the territory in which it is produced, its history and its traditions. To this end, collaboration with other bodies and institutes aimed at a joint promotion of wine is carried out.IRVOS participated in Prowein fair, which is held annually at Messe Düsseldorf. Event reserved exclusively for wine industry operators, sommeliers and employees in restaurants and hotels, Prowein attracts more than 50 thousand visitors each year. Honegger took care of every aspect of the participation of Italian companies at the fair, also reconfirming as a partner of IRVOS for the ideation and realisation of the group exhibition area that houses 35 cellars of the Sicilian Committee, including: Abbazia Santa Anastasia, Az. Agr. Francesco Spadafora, Az. Agr. G. Milazzo, Cantina Settesoli, Carlo Pellegrino & C., Donnafugata, Fazio Winese, F.lli Lombardo di Giuseppe & C., Funaro, Limonio, Principe di Corleone, Rallo.
