About the project
MICAM Milano is the international event promoted by the trade association of Italian footwear manufacturers, Assocalzaturifici, and takes place annually at the Rho Fiera exhibition centre. The event is exclusively dedicated to professionals in the shoes manufacturing sector and always takes place at the gates of Milan Fashion Week. The product sectors covered by MICAM are divided into areas: Luxury, with high-end products; Contemporary; I-Kids; Everyday; Cosmopolitan; Players District; Special footwear (work or safety footwear); Accessories for shops and Press.
Since 2018, in collaboration with Honegger, MICAM has been promoting a special area dedicated to 12 emerging footwear designers, selected by a jury of experts from the fashion industry. From the research for ideal candidates to that of the jurors, passing through the selection day, the organization of the participation and the setting up of the 574 square meters, Honegger takes care of this project in its entirety. Thanks to a light display made of suspended veils and gauze fabrics, the effect created in the design of the 12 stands is that of a series of stage backdrops, with a succession of different floors. The project is completed by a lounge area with a screen that captures the most salient moments of the entire project.
